Independently Certified by SGL

At Carat House, we believe you should feel completely confident in the jewellery you purchase.

That's why our finished pieces undergo independent examination and certification by SGL (Solitaire Gemmological Laboratories), an internationally recognised gemmological laboratory.

This additional level of verification provides independent confirmation of the diamonds and precious metals used in your jewellery.

More Than Just Diamond Certification

While your centre diamond comes with its own independent grading report, SGL certification examines your finished piece of jewellery.

This includes the smaller diamonds, precious metals and other details that make up your design.

The result is an independent report documenting the characteristics of your completed piece, giving you added confidence that what you've received is what you selected.

What Does Your SGL Certificate Include?

Your certificate provides a detailed record of your finished jewellery, including:

  • A unique certificate number for online verification
  • A photograph and description of your jewellery
  • The number, shape and total carat weight of the diamonds
  • Diamond colour and clarity assessments
  • Precious metal type and purity
  • The total weight of your finished piece

Each report is issued independently by SGL, providing a record of your jewellery's assessed characteristics.

Independently Examined, Without Removing Your Diamonds

SGL uses specialised equipment to screen mounted diamonds and identify whether they are natural or lab-grown.

Qualified gemmologists then examine the jewellery, assessing its diamonds and precious metals while the stones remain securely in their settings.

This allows your completed piece to be assessed without dismantling the design.

The Final Step Before Delivery

Every Carat House piece is carefully crafted and inspected throughout production.

Once your jewellery has been completed, polished and passed our quality checks, it is submitted for independent certification.

Following certification, your piece is prepared for its journey to you.

How to Verify Your Certificate

Your SGL certificate includes a unique report number and security features designed to protect its authenticity.

You can independently verify your certificate by scanning its QR code or entering your report number on the official SGL website.
